Sometimes because you work with a top player, everyone thinks you’re a top coach. Like, you know, everything.
Some of the great coaches I’ve seen haven’t been on tour or they have not been with a top player.
The player makes the coach whatever people say.
You have 2–3 % input, you can argue about the percent. The player obviously has to have the capabilities and the talents to be able to do it.
Probably some of my best coaching I’ve done is with players who never made it to the tour.
I think as a coach, I really worked well with them. They improved, but no one saw it.
