A lot of times when the coach experience resistance from the player that will lead to the coach losing their patience and they might feel offended at times. However, if you are aware of the needs of those players and if they do resist it’s nothing personal.

You just have to find another way to get to the point where you get to your goal and as a coach you have to respect those elements of resistance.

You want players to be resistant because you want them on the court also to be very stubborn. Tennis Players are in general stubborn people, and the better they are, the more stubbornness.

The problem arises if stubbornness turns into stupidity and that’s a very fine line.

So, you don’t want to cross over to stupidity and that’s also your responsibility as a coach, that you don’t cross that line of being irresponsible, taking actions that you might regret later on. So, we as tennis coaches can also be very stubborn.
