Great Tennis Players are not great because they are perfect, but they do have a near perfect response to mistakes.

If you are ranked outside of the top 50 either ATP or WTA you will probably either loose as many matches as you win during a season or even loose more matches than you win. Even if you are in the top 50 & win more matches than you loose the margin in tennis is extremely small & it is not unnormal to loose 44 % or more of the balls even when you win the matches. In some cases you might actually win the match while your opponent has won more balls than you.

Because of the way tennis is structured both regarding match & point wins you need to develop a tolerance for failure on the bumpy ride a tennis journey is.

So when you loose a match or a point practice:

1) Accepting your loss

2) Forgiving yourself

2) Correcting what needs to get better

3) Refocusing on the correction & move on
