When you walk out on the court & everything seems laughable easy. You feel like you can’t even miss the court if you tried to, you move effortlessly & there is complete silence in your head. It’s kind of magical when it happens, but on those other 364 days of the year it’s a totally different story & you are trying to get back to that same feeling & state of mind, but you can’t.
One of the biggest obstacles to consistent high performance is not because players can’t improve, but because they can’t commit to all of the small daily acts.
The goal should never be to chase the “magical feeeling” that some call being in flow or in the zone.
You must commit to the small daily acts of improving & then you might just get lucky that you from time to time experience the wonderful feeling & the calm state of mind as a result of doing all of the right things.
