Confidence is built by providing clear standards, establishing goals, developing competence & giving feedback – not just saying “good job”

Let me be the first to say that when I’m not aware I sometimes fall into this trap myself.

Players are smart no matter age or level & if the praise continually comes to easy without real effort or struggle, without ever being honest to them about where they are at & what they need to improve on, it won’t add to their confidence account.
